The capacitive level gauge (or capacitive level sensor) operates based on the principle of capacitors. It measures the liquid level by detecting the change in capacitance of the capacitor caused by the change in liquid level. The core principle, structural composition and measurement mechanism are as follows: 

I. Working Principle
Capacitance Change Mechanism
The liquid level gauge consists of electrodes (probe electrodes) and the container wall (or reference electrode) to form a capacitor. When the liquid level rises or falls, the proportion of the medium between the electrodes changes: 
Current signal: Outputs 4-20mA current, the current value is linearly corresponding to the liquid level height at 
Frequency/voltage signal: Part of the design indirectly reflects the liquid level height by detecting the change in oscillation frequency 
II. Structural composition
Sensor electrode 

Hard rod type: Metal straight rod electrodes, suitable for small containers or fixed installation scenarios 
Cable type: Flexible cable electrodes, suitable for large containers or situations requiring flexible installation 
The electrode surface is usually covered with an insulating layer (such as polytetrafluoroethylene) to prevent medium corrosion or electrical conductivity interference 
Detection circuit module
Built-in signal processor, achieving conversion from capacitance to electrical signal, temperature compensation and linearization correction, ensuring stable and accurate output
