One, Range of application
Serious Glass Sheet Level Gauge is a kind of sight glass level gauge which can show the liquid level directly. These type level gauges are widely used in chemical industries.

The adjustment of critical values of water & vapor resistance for the old instruments has two major difficulties: 1. the accurate values of water resistance and vapor resistance are unknown; 2. due to the adoption of trimmer potentiometer for adjustment, it is difficult to operate and it is not easy to adjust to the optimal value. For the above two reasons, the adjustment of the critical value is blind, so if the field environment is slightly changed, the critical value must be usually readjusted.
As a new intelligent electrical-contact liquid level monitoring instrument with high reliability, this intelligent liquid level instrument is intelligently updated under the precondition of keeping the compatibility with traditional electrical-contact liquid level instruments. Specifically, high-performance microcomputer processor is adopted as the core of this instrument, and A/D conversion is adopted for accurately measuring electrode resistance, thus to realize highly reliable and intelligent water level identification and such functions as electrode testing and electrode failure alarm.
Additionally, this instrument has multiple advanced functions that are not configured in traditional instruments, namely: free setting of scale figure and alarm point, 4~20mA current output, RS485 communication interface, etc.
Another major difference with the old instruments is: for the critical values of water & vapor resistance, "water" and "vapor" have two boundaries, namely "maximum water resistance value" (hereinafter referred to as "water resistance") and "minimum vapor resistance value" (hereinafter referred to as "vapor resistance". Specifically, the electrode with the resistance less than "water resistance" is soaked in water, the electrode with the resistance more than "vapor resistance" is located above the water surface, and the electrode with the resistance between "water resistance" and "vapor resistance" keeps its original state. Such mode is similar to "Schmidt comparator" in digital circuit and can significantly improve the interference immunity capacity.
If the level switch install together with bellow water level gauge, can check water level by sight glass directly.

Structure and work principle
This instrument consists of a metal body, machined to have an internal chamber and one or more front windows. On each window a special high resistance plate transparent glass is applied with sealing joint and metal cover plate hold by bolts and nuts.
The chamber is connected to vessel with cross firings and flanged, threaded or welded ends. Usually, between the instrument and its connection ends, valves are fitted to consent shut-off piping and to disassemble the level gauge without to empty the vessel. Drain valves can also be fitted to cross fittings device.
To protect glass surfaces from corrosive action of the process fluid, Glass Sheet Level Gauges can be fitted with Mica shields or polytrifluoro-chloro ethylene shields.
Designed on the principle of the communication vessels, communication vessels lead the liquid from the containers to the glass plate level gauge, and then the actual level can be seen through the transparent glass directly. The valve stem packing material applies for the crashed lead to ensure the reliable sealing.
