D-060Large Volume Combination Air Release Valve description:
The D-060 series Combination Air Valve has the features of both an air release valve and an air & vacuum valve. The air release component is designed to automatically release small pockets of air to the atmosphere as they accumulate along a pipeline or piping system when it is full and operating under pressure. The air & vacuum component is designed to automatically discharge or admit large volumes of air during the filling or draining of a pipeline or piping system. This valve will open to relieve negative pressures whenever water column separation occurs.

D-060 Product Features:
Combines the features of both an air & vacuum valve and an air release valve.
Triple function:
Air & vacuum component discharges large volumes of air during filling of the system.
Air & vacuum component admits large volumes of air during drainage and at water column separation.
The air release component releases entrapped air in pressurized systems.
All main flow cross-sections are equal or greater than the nominal port area.
Aerodynamic design enables high flow rates of air both at intake and at discharge.
Special orifice seat design: combination of bronze and E.P.D.M. rubber assures long-term maintenance-free operation.
Available in flange sizes: 2" - 10" (2" - 8" D-065 only).
These valves are manufactured with flanged ends to meet any requested standard.
Materials and Corrosion Protection
Body and cover made of Ductile Iron ASTM A-536 60-40-18.
Valve coating: fusion bonded epoxy coating according to standard DIN 30677-2.
Other coatings are available upon request.
Air Release Component:
Body made of high strength composite materials.
All operating parts are made of specially selected corrosion- resistant polymer materials.

Applications for Tianjin U-ideal float-type air vents include hydronic heating systems, water service lines, water storage tanks, centrifugal pumps, gas lines, solvent filters and similar equipment. Operation is completely automatic, and the simple design and quality mechanism make operation trouble-free and maintenance infrequent.


Why remove air from a water system?
Every building services engineer knows that air trapped in either a hot or chilled water system can cause
trouble, such as excessive noise, corrosion and increased maintenance costs. Air can cause air locks which inhibit the filling of the system or the priming of pumps. It can seriously affect the accuracy of flow measurement meters and regulating valves. Under extreme conditions it may even temporarily decommission plant.
Air and other incondensable gases considerably reduce heat transfer efficiency. A film of air 1 mm thick
presents the same barrier to heat transfer as a wall of copper 13 m thick!
Entrapped air in any water system is a threat to thermal efficiency. It is particularly damaging in a chilled water system which does not have the natural deaerating ability of hot water.
